Every Datamotive product (Easy Hybrid DR, Easy Migrate, Easy Protect, Easy Backup) runs on a shared core: a replication engine, a recovery engine, a metadata store, and a control plane. Knowing the core layout makes deployments, scaling, and troubleshooting predictable.
High level architecture
Architecture diagram: Datamotive core platform architecture showing replication engine, recovery engine, control plane, and metadata store
What the core provides
Replication engine
Block-level changed data capture and transfer.
Recovery engine
Builds and validates recovery points.
Metadata management
Plan, job, and recovery point state.
Orchestration
Coordinates workflows across sites.
Where each product fits
| Product | Uses |
|---|---|
| Easy Hybrid DR | Replication, recovery, orchestration, scheduling |
| Easy Migrate | Replication, recovery, scheduling |
| Easy Protect | Recovery, orchestration, deep scanning add-on |
| Easy Backup | Replication, retention, immutable object storage |
Security model
The core enforces encryption in transit (TLS 1.2 or later) and at rest (AES 256), tenant-scoped IAM, RBAC for human users, and an audit log that records every workflow action.
