Datamotive offers four products that share the same agentless replication core. Each is optimized for a distinct operational goal. Use this guide to identify which product fits your environment before you begin deployment.

Product overview
Easy Hybrid DR
Easy Hybrid DR is the primary disaster recovery product. It maintains a continuously replicated copy of your production workloads at a target site and can execute a fully orchestrated failover in under 10 minutes. Failback to the original site, after the incident is resolved, runs in the same 10-minute SLA.
Best fit for:
- Organizations with an RTO requirement of 10 minutes or less
- Environments spanning on-premises hypervisors and public cloud
- Compliance mandates that require demonstrable recovery capabilities (RBI, SEBI, HIPAA)
Easy Migrate
Easy Migrate handles one-time or wave-based workload movements. It synchronizes data continuously until you initiate the cutover window, at which point the target comes live and the source is decommissioned. The cutover window is flat at 10 minutes regardless of workload size.
Best fit for:
- VMware to cloud migrations
- Data center consolidation or cloud-to-cloud moves
- Projects where minimizing application downtime during cutover is critical
Easy Protect
Easy Protect adds a ransomware protection layer on top of the replication engine. It analyzes change patterns on each replication cycle, flags anomalies that match ransomware indicators, and maintains immutable clean-state snapshots that can be used as verified recovery points.
Best fit for:
- Organizations with exposure to ransomware or insider threats
- Environments that require cryptographic proof of data integrity at each recovery point
- Regulated industries that mandate verifiable clean-state recovery
Easy Backup
Easy Backup provides policy-based backup with configurable retention schedules. Backups are stored in immutable object storage and can be restored at the VM or volume level. It is the right choice when your primary requirement is compliance-grade retention rather than sub-10-minute RTO.
Best fit for:
- Long-term retention requirements (7 years for HIPAA, RBI mandates)
- Secondary or non-critical workloads that do not need continuous replication
- Cost-sensitive backup tier that complements an existing DR strategy
Can products be combined?
Yes. A common deployment pattern is:
- Easy Hybrid DR for Tier 1 production systems (RTO under 10 minutes)
- Easy Backup for Tier 2 systems (RTO in hours, longer retention)
- Easy Protect layered on top of Easy Hybrid DR for environments with elevated ransomware risk
All products are managed from the same Datamotive console and share the same agent-free architecture.
